HOLY SHIT GUYS pretty much sums it up.

Obligatory morbid thought: we'll see if "Power of 9" includes power-voting her all the way through, (she did win the Seoulbeats best female dancer poll by a huge margin over BoA and Gahee, preposterous) or if Sones are still just paying lip-service.

*wince* That is a morbid thought... But I also hope she does well in her own right, you know? Hopefully, she'll see this as a way to finally stand out. If those Dream Team 2 challenges were any indication, hopefully she'll take this seriously as well. (Though that sounds weird - why wouldn't she take it seriously?)

The more I think about this the more I love it. I like the fact that the plan is 'to see a new side of Hyoyeon'. As much as we love her hip hop dancing, people already know she can dance like that. But this will be very different. Actually more challenging in areas where she can be weak like controlling her movements like some people have criticized. A lot of ballroom dancing goes from fast tempo to slow and seductive so you have to be able to convey both seamlessly.

I'm nervous for her dancing in the shoes. /o\. The first episode has been filmed already and I think we are going to see them partnering up and practicing with some little interviews with the cast. Then the following week the competition starts.

Bad day for the news to be out, because its been overshadowed by the TTS teaser
This is true - it's really going to be interesting to see how this all plays out. Is the voting on Dancing With the Stars through the public or by the judges? Hopefully, with TTS (which I'm also calling "TittySeo" xP) subunit craze that's sure to come will provide momentum for Hyo's popularity, not overshadow it, but I fear that the latter will happen instead ... (I think the TTS release and Hyo's first show is the same day or at least 1 day apart, right?)

Ballroom styles demand precise, controlled grace so translating Hyo's movement to really complete her extensions instead of prematurely pulling back (like she's so used to doing) should be fun to watch. She's also used to accelerating her movements, so she needs to smooth that out a bit.

This is what I mean. I agree. It will be interesting to see how she adjusts to that.
