You know, vocally, it's really evident when Jessica's not there 'cause her voice seems to *fit* the parts she has - supports how they've said that the parts they sing are chosen for them. That being said, HOLY CRAP SEOHYUN. Wow. She has totally been breaking out lately, the strength in her voice and how she takes the stage.

The moment after her adlibs in Genie where Taeyeon moves backwards into the diagonal lines wasn't added until JGenie. Japan pretty much shit themselves over that, what with the emphasis on SNSD's legssync as a major appeal point, so I'm guessing their choreo from then on all have those kinds of moments: backwards-moving formation shifts and sections where the Borgeveryone does the same thing, and a single formation moving together.

I don't care what anyone says. Jessica's absence is quite noticeable. Her voice really brought me to the group in general.

Ever since Letterman Seohyun has been noticeably putting an extra oomph to her performances/gestures. Girl has been flawless lately

Ooh, ooh, please stick around! That's just about what I said about "The Boys," except written so much nicer. All of the mashups and remixes of "The Boys" also proves that the song can be salvaged, even that awful chorus, if compensated for by the arrangement. On the other side, mashups that either use Genie's vocals or arrangement tend to be really great because both are really great. Put the two together and you get a tour de force of a song.

I really wish they'd just used the intro part as the chorus 'cause in recent mashup by Masa it's obvious that the chorus is the weakest part of the song.

Oooh, definitely on point with that comparison of instrumentals. Tangent: During the NYC fanmeet, it was interesting that no one could sing along to The Boys; I think the fact the instrumental is so bland had something to do with that. (But geez, it barely holds its own as an instrumental!)
