It's amazing what can go through one's mind in a split second. Glad you didn't have to make the leap.

We had an awesome day in Ottawa. So very much to see and do and not only what's on The Hill. It's an awe inspiring moment being part of thousands singing O Canada up on Wellington Street when the Snow Birds fly over the Peace Tower drowing out the final notes. Everyone gets all choked up and people are torn between using their hands to wipe their eyes or applauding the spectacle.

Hmmm. I thought I had a pretty good spectacle to watch but after your description of Snowbirds flying over thousands of people singing O Canada on Parliament Hill I think you win! :-)

And ya, quick thinking or not that's not a swim I ever enjoy doing. Too many bad things can happen.

I'm a canoeist and I've had very unpleasant experiences trying to rescue people or tipped canoeists in the water. Nothing like adrenaline.

And there is nothing like celebrating Canada Day in Ottawa. I'll send you a link to some pics I took.
