Last night, I finally finished every episode of Star Trek: The Animated Series. I MISS STAR TREK SO MUCH, WORDS CANNOT EVEN CONVEY THE MAGNITUDE OF THE ENTERPRISE-SHAPED HOLE IN MY LIFE

I'm actually rather enjoying this season so far! I mean, I'm not so fond of burping and farting, but the main demographic for this show is children, so I can handle that sort of thing in moderation.
I suppose that one thing I'm especially invested in/interested to see how it develops is the Arthur/Gwen relationship, so my wishes re: their shared screen-time are definitely being fulfilled.
Love that you watched Merlin with your class. And that they enjoyed it! Neat.

They are pretty much the highlight of the show for me, because they're adorable and have chemistry and actually communicate with each other and don't perpetually make the same loathsome and/or misguided mistakes OVER AND OVER AND OVER AND OVER AND OVER AND JFC IT'S SEASON THREE BITCHES WHY ARE WE STILL DOING THIS (looking at YOU, Merlin/Gauis/Morgana/Uther/BASICALLY EVERY OTHER CHARACTER), and d'awwwwwww ♥ ♥ ♥ This is one thing I will freely and willingly compliment the show on, because based on S1 I didn't understand how Gwen/Arthur was going to work out at all (Gwen/Merlin and Gwen/Morgana, holla!! Both of which are now pretty much nonexistent... sigh... well, there have been some good Gwen/Merlin bits lately, at least), and now it's like EEEEE I CAN'T WAIT FOR YOU TO GET MARRIED AND HAVE MATCHING THRONES AND BASICALLY DOMINATE THE

Well, there have been some good Gwen/Merlin bits lately, at least Yes! This! I am very fond of those moments when they band together To Solve Great Problems, CSI Camelot style.
DID YOU SEE THE PREVIEW FOR NEXT WEEK? PICNICS. PICNICS IN THE WOODS. PICNICS IN THE WOODS WITH KISSAGE. Picnics in the woods with kissage broken up by Morgana, but still. You can't have everything, I suppose.
Going to work suuuuuuucks. Not the work itself, even, just the routine of going there
This is why I'm clinging to academics as hard as I can, even if parts of it really really suck. I like my random schedule and only having to be places when I'm teaching or in class.
Also, I thought the next Merlin ep (I think it's the next one? It's the one with the Fisher King) was pretty good. It was actually sort of creepy.

Also, the guarantee of a completely new schedule/courseload every few months is impossibly attractive. Even though I disliked a lot of things about my college days, that was always the part that appealed to me the most -- because, let's be honest, I have an astoundingly short attention span. The idea of doing the same thing for more than one semester is... just... torturous. I guess I'm in the same position with teaching now, at least, because we work on 13-week semesters? The only thing is that the curriculum is extreeeemely consistent and proscribed, and chances are I will be teaching some of the same classes again next term, so the only real change will be the students (and even then, I'll probably have some of the same kids again, too
