TV of 2009, concluded!

Jun 01, 2010 22:45

Now that it's June and all, I figure it is an appropriate time to finally finish up my long-abandoned TV of 2009 round-up post. (It's not so bad, is it? June? January? June? January? Whatever, they start with the same letter.) Time consuming though it may be to write up, and perhaps tedious though it may be to read, I do like to have it for ( Read more... )

when i say 'too much tv' i mean it, royal pains, woolsey needs his own tag!, spooks, stargate: sg-1, stargate: atlantis, tv girlfriends, robin hood, year in review, hours of my life i will never get back, testament to my bad taste in everything, star trek: tas, the prisoner

Woo hoo hoo! The Prisoner and Robin Hood in the same post yayyy! ♥ I'm definitely more on the "love" than "hate" side with RH but I know what you mean. (And I really must get you on my Yuku forum! :p But do let me know if I'm being a pain in the arse about that and I'll shut up. :D) Oh and I used to watch Stargate SG-1 and kinda got bored eventually, yeah ... it just felt like more of the same old, same old. OK, that's all I have time for tonight, sorry 'bout the short and slightly manic post. Cheers!

Overall, my RH feelings are more weighted toward love, too (I didn't quite realize how much so until I started writing out my thoughts on the end of SGA and found that most of my feelings were still GRIPE GRIPE GRIPE UNRESOLVED HATE HATE HATE even though when it was on, I had insane love for so much of it -- and yet my thoughts on the end of Robin Hood are, "Awww, you crazy weird thing, you! You ruined my life but I will accept you into my heart!" I... whatever. MY TV-RELATED NEUROSES, LET ME SHOW YOU THEM).

And, hee, don't worry! I have been reading through some of the stuff on your forum and been wowed by some of the discussions going on over there (the whole thread about Stockholm syndrome was especially interesting!). I think I have to wait until I have something intelligent to add, haha -- unfortunately, most of my participation in this fandom is "MMMMM MAZZA IS SO SMOKIN'" or "LOL ROBIN'S HEAD IS NOW SHOPPED ONTO KING KONG." capslock_hood, how you have corrupted me.

I've never watched The Prisoner* (I know, I know), but I gather pissed off Lost fans don't know how lucky they are. :-P

*I tried to watch the 'reimagined' version, but James Caviezel was horribly miscast to the point of unwatchability.

HahahahaYOUDONOTKNOWTHEHALFOFIT. A...hem. Yes indeedy.

I did finally finish up with the reimagined version this week after giving up on it two-thirds of the way through. Damn my inner completist! I wasn't enjoying it like, at all, but I still had the last part on my DVR and thought, well, maybe the end will be awesome and justify it all? And actually... no. The end sucks, too (which is too bad because it was very pretty and had lots of great actors and yet... just... bad!).

Just out of curiosity, have you watched any of the animated Trek? I'm enjoying it so much more than I expected to, and yet it has basically zero fandom presence!

I haven't, no. I'm afraid I probably have a bias against animated spin offs; I tend to presume they're mainly a cash in.
