Fandom whore? Moi? Never. (The reason I've suddenly replaced that-show-I-posted-about-non-stop-for-weeks-on-end with that-new-show-I-plan-to-post-about-non-stop is that I'm still not quite ready to address the former's cancelation. I know I shouldn't be particularly surprised or upset by this, but... still. That doesn't mean it can't hurt something ( Read more... )

I went to bloody buy Ashes to Ashes S1 yesterday, and bloody bloody HMV didn't have it in stock, damn them. Can I just add another bloody to this comment? Bloody.

I'm not sure why it's taken me this long to decide to watch A2A. I loved Life on Mars to itty bitty pieces (GENE!), but I heard iffy things about A2A, so decided to wait a bit. And now everyone's raving about S2, so I'm kicking myself for not having gobbled my way through S1 before it started airing on the Beeb.

Frustrating! I do hope you get a chance to pick it up soon.

I understand your reluctance. I started LoM last year and finished last week and there are not even words for how completely deep-down-to-my-bones satisfying I found the final episode. Is a sequel necessary? And a Sam-less sequel, at that? I'd almost rather leave it at Sam and Gene cruising off into the sunset in the Cortina.

...But, well, what can I say? I was curious and Robin Hood was over and it has Philip Glenister and Keeley Hawes so it can't all be bad, right? I figured I would give one episode a go and see where things went from there. AND. OH. THE FIRST EPISODE IS LIKE CRACK-COATED GLITTERY AWESOME AND I DON'T KNOW WHEN I HAVE EVER FALLEN FOR A SHOW SO IMMEDIATELY. Usually there's a short waiting period during which I mull over a show’s pros and cons, wonder about its sustainability, speculate about future plots and whether it’s worth sticking through... but I can honestly say that none of that was a concern when I decided to immediately declare this my new BEST ( ... )
