Meme that I got from dollsome like a million years ago and has just been sitting in my drafts waiting to be posted: ten things I love! Today's programming brought to you by the letter R (and please comment if you'd like a letter of your own).

Cut for pictures and YouTube vids of a biggish nature )

guy/marian, rudolph valentino, movies, music, memes, robin hood, vids, pictures, college, lists

Yaaay, that was fun! The cracky Robin Hood picspam! The Guy/Marian picspam! Lots of actors that I've never heard of and felt kind of bad about not having heard of, but they were all pretty! (And at least I recognized Rita Hayworth!)

ROMANTICISM, YAAAAAY. That's so sad that your professor doesn't like it! I am tempted to somehow invite you to my Literature of Romanticism class, which is just about the best thing in the world.

And, oh, it amuses me that you put The Rainbow Connection on there. (And, hee, that is so adorable about your dad!) Mostly because I will always associate it with this glorious scene from The Office. Which probably isn't super-funny when it's not in context, but . . . still. The idea that anyone doesn't watch The Office makes me really really sad, so I'm just going to say this is my attempt to convert you.

Like I said, I had a hard time starting out with this letter, so I was just browsing through my documents for anything starting with "R" and immediately hit upon a wealth of classic Hollywood stars. Ohhh, nostalgia! I feel so very disconnected from all of them, not having TCM in my dorm. Aside from a handful of DVDs, my love of classic movies has been pretty neglected during my college years, which is most unfortunate, but this meme just made me remember why I love them all so much in the first place. And, oh, I really think you would love Ronald Colman! I actually almost included this in the post, but I immediately associated him with your crusade to give proper credit to stuffy, proper fiancés. I don't know that I've ever seen him play that exact type, come to think of it, but I guess it's just the personality traits that carry over. And the mustache ( ... )

I would like a letter of my own!

And is that the Robin Hood gang Morris dancing I see at the top?

I'm ashamed to admit that I actually had to look up Morris dancing on Wikipedia just now in order to answer your question but, judging from some of the wackiness going on in the article's pictures, I'd say it's not far off. XD They're incognito as a band to crash the Sheriff's fair and, as usual, TOTALLY FAIL AT DISGUISES. And it's awesome. And hilarious.

F!

Well...they have instruments and...ribbons? Border morris dancers wear ribbons. I think they've just thrown a load of random stuff together in the hope it will look vaguely old fashioned!

For someone who doesn't follow the show, you seem to have summed it up quite nicely! ;)

Heh, yes, that's my general reaction as well. ;) And I don't know if you've seen it, but there's actually a second part to the Tango Kisses video.
