Films of 2007

At the beginning of 2007, I had a vague idea of going for 100 new movies in one year, but only made it to 61. Sigh. I think I might make a similar goal for this year; I don't really anticipate making it, but there's no harm in trying. Because I watched a lot more movies than I read books (does that mean I get my license revoked as an English major ( Read more... )

Fredric March's eyebrows are exceedingly attractive (as is Fredric March himself, esp. in Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde - I think that has a lot to do with repressed sexuality, though).

And Sunset Boulevard just breaks my heart every time I watch it.

Oh, I'd say that definitely applies to Death Takes a Holiday as well. Not that I've seen more than a few minutes of Meet Joe Black, but Brad Pitt's got nothin' on Fredric March as far as I'm concerned.

I think 'Mister Roberts' is a great film. Like MASH - the 'shenanigans' make it all the more poignant. It's a human film. And a great ending for William Powell's movie career, and a nice landmark in Cagney's.

Yes, I totally agree; of course the IMDb boards are probably the last place I should expect to find reasonable, informed opinions about anything, so it's a bit silly for me to get offended by the posts there.

Hahaha, when I was younger we had a tape of Search For Spock. I must've watched it 20 times - definitely a childhood favourite - although I can't remember much of what it was about now...

Simon Pegg/Nick Frost OTP FTW!

They search for Spock. To say more would give away the end. :-P

Venus seems to have had a similar effect on a lot of people.
