Hearing the screams of the fans filtering in from the grand hall outside, a sense of ecstasy and nervousness bubbled up within him. This was it. This would be the day when everything would be out in the open.

Glancing to his side, a smirk pulled up on the corner of Kyuhyun's lips at the sight that greeted him. The other man standing there with him was evidently filled with jitters, because he was habitually fiddling with his fingers as they waited for the designated time to loom upon them.

Automatically, Kyuhyun's arm moved to find its new place around Sungmin's shoulders, pulling his long-time roommate close to him in an effort to calm him down. The shorter one of the pair shot a nervous smile at him, before his worry-filled eyes flickered back to the stage that was brightly lighted up.

There was a long table covered in silk cloth, several chairs, and several glasses of water placed on the tabletop. There were also some flower arrangements, nothing too fancy. Despite not having anyone on stage, the flickers from the cameras of the reporters had already began, as if trying to catch the perfect moment where someone would actually walk onto the stage.

The entire world was waiting for the two people who were hidden in the darkness at the back of the stage, trying hard to calm both their hearts down as they listened to the fans cheer and the cameras clicking away.

"Stop being so outwardly nervous, hyung. You're ruining calm demeanour," Kyuhyun teased with a chuckle, earning a response in the form of narrowed eyes from his roommate.

"Easy for you to say, Kyu. You don't seem too fazed about what we're about to do," Sungmin commented with a frown. He really couldn't see how Kyuhyun could be so relaxed before taking the stage.

"Of course not. Shouldn't we be accustomed to the stage and the spotlights on us by now? It's been six years since we've debuted after all," the younger man pointed out, still with the infuriating smirk plastered on his face. "Just think of this as another press conference that we have to give."

Sungmin rolled his eyes at that. "Except that this time there's only two of us facing the barrage of reporters and fans," he lamented. "And, we're about to say something that could leave us jobless for the rest of our lives."

Kyuhyun chuckled. "Really now? I, for one, think that most of our fans would be very accommodating about the news. Whether or not the rest of the public is fine with the idea isn't much of my concern," he shrugged, earning yet another frown from Sungmin.

"You seem so laid back about this, Kyu. Even if we might have received blessings from the people closest to us, the public is the main concern here, aren't they? It's not as though you're oblivious about their venomous words," the older man scoffed. He stiffened when Kyuhyun pressed a peck against his cheek.

"Honestly, I don't care what the others say. We both know who the most important people to us are. That is, of course unless you don't consider me important enough to give up on everything else," Kyuhyun commented, pretending to be hurt by Sungmin's indecision. The pink lover scowled at him and aimed a light punch at his arm.

"Shut up, Kyuhyun. You know that's not true," he shot back, though both of their attentions were focused on the crowd moments later when a shrill cheer came from their fans. They took a look at their watches, realising that it was time for them to step out in the open.

Smiling, they intertwined their fingers and walked confidently out into the spotlights that would probably determine the rest of their future.
