Epilogue
Shindong crossed his hands behind his head and looked up at the blue skies once again, as the flashbacks from their past and that fateful day slowly came to an end. To him, bringing up these memories were once-in-a-year events - only on Wonshin's death anniversary. Normally, these thoughts would be repressed at the back of his mind, when his career as a member of Super Junior and as an entertainer took centre stage. It was a silent promise that he had made to her on the day of he finally brought himself to accept the fact that she has passed away and visited her grave, because he knew that she wouldn't approve of him grieving so badly over her.
However, for the first few weeks after her death, he found himself being uninterested in life, and spent his free time mostly sitting in the darkness of his room, staring blankly at the view of the city outside his window. Of course, the other Super Junior 05 members did not fail to notice his out-of-the-norm behavior, and that his usual cheerful self was no longer there. It took them quite some time before they managed to get the truth out of him - though he was thankful to Leeteuk for allowing him to divulge the details on his own.
For days, his group members tried to console him, and cheer him up with every method they could think of, but to no avail. He would still sulk in his room, and almost refused to eat - until Heechul's temper erupted in his face. That was one scary sight that Shindong did not want to relive. In addition, Yesung and Leeteuk also managed to knock some sense into him. And it was the first and only time that Shindong saw Yesung get so angry.

"What good would it do if you stayed this way?!" Leeteuk shouted at Shindong, whom still remained in his position, unblinking and uncaring about the world around him. All he wanted was to be left alone - was that too hard to fulfill?
"I don't need you to care about me, Teukkie hyung," he mumbled, and he could feel his chest tighten when Wonshin's smiling face appeared in his mind once again. He never knew it was possible to miss someone so much.
His façade was finally interrupted when Yesung suddenly stormed into the room and grabbed him by the collar - apparently he and the other members have all overheard his short exchange with their leader, because everyone was currently crowded at the entrance of his room. From the corner of his eye, he could see a seething Heechul getting dragged away by Hankyung and Siwon, thereby averting a storm.
However, this was the first time that he had encountered such a livid Yesung, whose breathing was currently labored, and staring him down with a sharp glare. Shindong flinched a little at the sight.
"Don't you dare speak to Teukkie hyung like that," Yesung hissed through clenched teeth, shaking Shindong rather violently from time to time when he stressed certain points. "Why can't you see that there's no point dwelling over someone who's no longer in this world? Do you think she'd be happy in the heavens above if she sees you wallowing in self-pity? Has the time that you've spent with her taught you nothing? Nothing at all?!" he continued to yell in Shindong's face.
Once he was done with his outburst, Yesung turned to Leeteuk, and pulled him out of the room with him, muttering "Teukkie hyung, there's no point trying to kick sense into some idiot who wouldn't even try to listen" along the way. It was then followed by two doors slamming successively - the first was his, and the second was undoubtedly Yesung's.

Shindong was - and still is - grateful towards Yesung for scolding him that night, because he came to his senses and apologized to all his brothers in Super Junior 05 for his worrying behavior. They forgave him, but not after they made him treat them to a meal - idea courtesy of Heechul. But Shindong did not begrudge it; in fact, he was more than happy to do so, after all that they've done for him and also for tolerating him for a couple of weeks after Wonshin's death.
Now with a satisfied smile on his face, Shindong stood up and stretched, then bowed once more towards Wonshin's grave.
"Wonshin ah, please look after me from above as always. See me reach the top with my hyungs and dongsaengs with our fourth album. I promise I won't disappoint neither you nor the fans and those who believe in us," he whispered. After giving one final glance at her photo, he took his leave, enjoying the soothing morning breeze that caressed his cheeks lovingly, as though it was trying to tell him something.
