Heh! Good to hear you're getting the LR together...

I recently bought mine a pair of rather nice Goodyear G90 10-ply 750R16s to replace the front Avon Rangemasters which - after 20,000 miles - were borderline-legal; at least it now *sounds* like a Land Rover again.

Do you mean those tyres where you can hear the Landy comming from a mile away ?
My old miches lasted something like 70k, there was loads of tread left, I had re-grooved them as they were re-groovable, it was the rot that killed them.

Yes - G90s produce that indescribable but instantly-recognisable Landy-approacheth whine.

I don't usually find tyres last more than one year/25,000 miles. There again, being tweaked-TD5-powered, Dogmobile Two cruises at 110+ MPH when the law's not looking. I rather like hunting BMWs in the outside lane of motorways and on twisty A-roads, which explains my need for a set of discs/pads all round every 20,000 miles or so.

Is that a 110 TD5 ? Have you been at the chips ? and the wastegate pressure ?? Watch out for a sudden loss of oil pressure on that engine, some have the nut drop off of the end of the oil pump.
I bottled out at 96 with my series 3, scince then the revs have been cut a little.

My Friday the 13th has started off badly and will probably deteriorate downhill rapidly.
