I hate that Tinie even felt like she had to second guess her story because of a hateful comment from someone who apparently could have been kink shamed herself. That is if the reviewer ever did anything to put herself out there. Instead, she stands back and throws stones. I was really glad she decided to put it back up and I have to say, I really admire her for that.
I'm just very happy that Tinie saw fit to put it up again - fic that challenges people deserves to be read.
Also, the fact that the person who flamed could absolutely be kinked shamed in return... yeah, not cool to go pointing fingers like that. *cross but getting over it*
And what's worse - like you said, they haven't put anything out there themselves. There's no room to point fingers when you're not even playing on the same field, really.
I'll never understand why people choose to ignore warnings and then bitch about it in the comments. Or why they read something despite the warnings. Or why they feel the need to leave a negative comment at all. Even if I don't like a fic, I always try to find at least one positive thing to say about it, or just don't comment at all. But I guess it's something every author has to go through at some point - if they're writing unusual kinks, at least, which I've done a lot in the HP fandom. I've received a few flames there; most of them even explained why I'm sick for writing or drawing something. XD
It sucked at first, but you get used to it, really. Of course it's new if you've only ever written kinks that were accepted by the majority of people, but... yeah. You just have to tell yourself that for every hater out there, there are probably five people who love the kink, even if they may not comment :)
And I don't understand either why people review even after warnings and shit like that. That's just shitstirring, provoking a reaction for no reason.
Thanks for the words of advice - I'll try to keep them in mind for when I do post stuff. *has a boat load of kink meme prompts to fill* So many kinks, so little time...
Because you know... Incest is TOTALLY COOL! *head-desk* Even the fact that one might get into trouble for NOT liking twincest is quite sick when a fic, that is as well written as Tinies is gets shit where there is NO sex and she points out a lot of interesting views on the whole issue... THAT gets shamed? *shakes head* Stupid and idiotic.
Dude, according to her my collection of favorites and tracked stories would probably have me in a mental institution... *is a huge perv and darkfic-fan*
True that - however you frame it it, Bill/Tom, Twincest, B/T... it still boils down to incest. Kind of weird, actually.
And I think it's about making people think - some don't like to question things, or think on difficult subjects. And others just like shaming shit and can't string a full sentence together so they stick to good ol' fashioned mud slinging.
Talking of favourites, I should really put mine up... see how well they take them *haz darkfic tastes too*
Thanks for the comment, Ksena. Means a lot. *hugs*
