Movie Sign / A Quiet Easter

Bryan (iturtle) and I caught a bunch of crappy movies at the local mega-plex the other day- Doomsday, 10,000 BC and the animated Horton Hears a Who.

Doomsday, a movie we held the most hope for, started out interestingly enough but turned into a bunch of crap. It's basically about a virus that breaks out in a Scotland of the future. In an attempt to ( Read more... )

That you for the movie reviews - I was scared to see Horton, but I love Jim Carrey and especially Steve Carrell (loved him in his last movie which was more drama than comedy but still really good. I think he's a great actor who has comedic skills rather than just a comedian. The preview for Doomsday had sweaty teenage boy all over it, so I knew that was going to be awful and then BC was a joke to someone who studied sociology/anthropolgy as the college major. Happy Easter Adam-rabbit!

Ohh, we had such high hopes for Doomsday because it was an apocalyptic science-fiction action film and everyone knows how much I love life-after-the-end-of-the-world stories. Heck, I made one last year. It even had Bob Hoskins. But it really is a train-wreck of better movies. So disappointing. But yea, Horton comes "Adam Recommended" so go see it. I worry when I see Carrey in a comedic role because he's been the same character in all his movies since the early 90's and it's got to stop. In Horton, he plays the character instead of playing Jim Carrey and the movie is better for it. Really great stuff that breaks their usual moron character acting. Happy Easter to you too! :D
