On Wednesday, Val and Franko took off on a 10-day winter-vacation to Orlando. They're gonna try to hit all the major theme parks and even hopefully attend a Space Shuttle launch on Sunday (Unless they delay the launch again). Franko gave Val a serious, professional digital camera as an early Christmas gift so that they could get great shots of the Shuttle. Catching a launch would be unreal. Simply unreal. I don't see myself catching one anytime soon, so for them to get the chance and to bring back super-high-def images and stories to go along with them would be spectacular.
Back here in Oregon, however, I've been put in charge of their place while they're gone. This is the longest they've ever both been away from their place at the same time. Basically, I've got to watch over a goldfish and their two cats, Ashley and Luka. Ashley is the older cat and normally turns into a grump when Val is gone for more than a couple days at a time. That all stems from when we got Luka earlier this year and the stress of a new cat caused ulcers on Ashley's eyes that had to be medicated twice a day. Of course, Val and Franko picked that moment to go on a vacation back then, so I was left to dose poor Ashley. She was wildly mad and vicious and ever since has been grumpy when I'm the only one around as if I'm only there to dose her. Now, this time, however, Ashley seems calmer. She's mellow and even hung out with me the other night.
I miss living on my own so much that I'll try to be there as much as I can be until they come home Sunday in one week. Such a nice change of pace. I can't wait to move out and live on my own again. While I'm at Val's I've been playing Halo online with Bryan. Earlier tonight I was really having problems with the game as I seemed to be completely harmless. It appeared that people could just walk right through me and I was constantly getting killed. I had a bad night on the game. Very bad. But tomorrow is another day... to totally waste in front of the TV playing video games!
But seriously, I'll probably get gearing up for the holidays. My brother, Ryan, comes home from college in Minnesota in a couple days for the first time since January, so the party shall begin. Not only that, I've been selling stuff like mad for my friends and family on eBay and Amazon.com for the last couple weeks. I've sold several big-ticket items and have earned a stock-pile of commissions which should help make the season a little brighter. It'll still be a tight holiday, but I'm thankful that I've got the savvy to make money for the holiday while I'm regretfully unemployed. But that'll all change very soon, I know it.
