Ehhh... Nothing to See Here

Ehh... It's been another wonderfully uneventful week. Nothing really of note at all happened in my life, which is typically a sign that things are a-okay. The weather has been wonderful and the summer is finally showing signs of its arrival.

I know I said I wouldn't talk about On The Lot anymore, but some final words need to be said before the ( Read more... )

What ever happened to making movies and films just for the fun of it? A contest, with odds completely against your favor, shouldn't be the only reason to be creative.

Why can't contests be a good reason? Who says making films for contests is a bad thing or can't be fun? Contests are great motivators. Competition is a good thing. Saying my odds of winning are low makes you sound negative and afraid to at least try. I think you're still secretly disappointed that we don't have the time to make a Zelda movie. Write the script and we'll see what happens after this Nintendo contest is done. That is, if you've got the motivation without a contest to get work done :)

Hey I watched part of on the lot last night and I can honestly say it was pretty dumb. It did not keep my attention, and you know, it doesn't take much to keep my attention :) Anyway, I like your idea for the nintendo movie... will you put it somewhere we can see when it is done? Hope so!

The opinion that the show is badly produced is not uncommon. In fact, I'm having a hard time finding anyone on the Internet who actually liked the show. People keep coming back to the point of, "Why the hell is a third-rate director choosing the finalists?" Plus, a lot of people are put out by watching the mundane act of making short films. Better still are the ratings that came in this morning. It appears that On The Lot got slaughtered in the ratings, being bested twice over by a made for TV movie on another channel. Yea, things aren't looking good. Someone is panicing at Fox right now.

If the Nintendo movie gets made, you had better believe that it will be on my website and I'll be talking up a storm about it on my journal here just like for Those Abandoned. Fear not! :)
