Remembering the Journey

Sep 22, 2006 22:36

One year ago today, I began my two-month road trip. At the time, I envisioned a trip that would float on the wind and carry me wherever I dared. I must have freaked everyone out, I mean, I go from being laid off to leaving on a road trip in 6 days? No real planning and a desire to do this totally alone sure should have frightened everyone. But, to ( Read more... )

Yea, it's been a year. What's most depressing about it being a full year is that I've acccomplished little since the trip. But hey, whatever. Why wouldn't you have supported it? You didn't want me to go and get killed or something? :)

I think writing about your thoughts of the trip is a great way to end the memoir. Don't overthink it--just write it. And if you don't like your ending, you can always rewrite it or change it. It's an amazing experience you had and it'd be great to read about it. :)

Speaking of writing, I've been reading your Jurassic Park fanfiction novel and I'm a little ways into the "Guilty as Charged" chapter. So far, I'm quite intrigued in this envisioning of a story about what if there were never an accident and everyone signed off on the island and Nedry (Finally) got caught spiriting embryos away and went to prison. Hammond's rallying-the-troops pep-talk upon returning to Nublar after the sentencing hearing was a nice touch. I'd have expected him to sit back down and complain about something but you've given him a hard-learned lesson in respecting his underlings and it's changed him.

I wish I had some creative input for you, but at the moment you're surprising me so I've got nothing but intrigue and anticipation...

Oh wow...thank you for reading it! It means a lot to me and I'm honored when anyone takes the time to read my writings. I'm glad that you're enjoying the story so far. As for Hammond...yes, he's changed somewhat...at least at that point, he has definitely learned to respect those who work for him. I won't say more because I don't want to give it away. ;) I'm always open to concrit, suggestions, as well as mentioning what you felt worked well/liked vs. what you feel doesn't work or even didn't like. Thank you again for reading. I appreciate it! :)
