whew! - that was a tough list, tougher than i expected =) thanks so much for doing it, though, it was a lot of fun ~hugs~ ooooh, and i learned a new phrase in finnish, one of my friends in turku said it would come in handy when i make my trip over to chase the pretty eyeliner boys...
Have you seen my knickers?snowisgreatMay 13 2007, 17:55:04 UTC
Haha, yeah many of them I would not have known myself even though it's from my own collection :D
Dude, I live in Turku too!! LOL, so I take it you definitely plan on catching the eyeliner boys as well? ^_^
It IS knickers, right? I've never heard that particular word before but housut are pants and in this context... knickers seem like the obvious word! XD)

~LOL~..i have no idea...i asked him for some phrases that i can actually use, the kind of thing that's not in the english-finnish travel books, and he told me that one (which i assumed was "have you seen my pants?", but maybe he did mean knickers instead of panties? Unless he was telling me the "have you seen my pants?" so i know what the eyeliner boys are saying to me in the morning...~LOL~
he also told me how to ask: "Where is the closest bar?" "Can you call me a cab?" "Where is my hotel?" and "Two vodkas, please."
And i knew you were there, but not actually *in* turku...small world! the more i look into what it would take for me to be able to come over, the more i am thinking next summer. that will give me time to get some money together, and clear enough time so that i can spend a few weeks and get to do some non-tourista type things while i am there.

Haha, checked it out today at work, it DOES just mean pants, no knickers :D (damned my thinking! XD)
I like the "where is my hotel", I can just see you tumbling out on the street, drunk as hell, asking strangers "Misä on minun hotellini?" - imagine the glares, LOL
I'm sure you will not regret it you manage to save the money - Finland id a great country, not least because of all the music and the plethora of festivals in the summer, and the nature and all.
It's always best to have enough time to have a chance to actually get under the skin of a country while you visit, the 1 week is not enough to get a real sense of a place.
I actually knew the Train one (I just don't like them but I knew someone who did) and I knew the Stone Sour one but I was tired and forgot to add that one. I also thought you said that the only good Madonna song was "This Used to Be My Playground"? What's up with that?
"This Used To Be My Playground" IS the only Madonna song I really like but "You'll See" is on the same album and I find it easier to transfer the whole album than single tracks. So that's why :D
