This wasn't even about Connie, believe it or not. In the past week, I've seen at least four casual gayclaimings of various dead people (one photographer, one actress, two dancers) and I'm just headdesking so hard. And the less said about the batshit misogynist slashers in numerous fandoms, the better. On a semi-related note - having just finished watching the latest Sherlock ep - if this kind of wankery occurs I will be very upset - the ep should in fact spawn masses of poly fic because IT'S ALL GOOD

Just a friendly reminder that I'm not in the UK and haven't seen it yet, and even mentions such as the one above (implying there's going to be shippy stuff in the ep) will give me impressions of the ep and skew my mind towards various approaches to the episode, which I really don't want. I want to approach each ep afresh but now I might just be thinking of the batshit contingent of the fandom, which is very DNW. So I'd just like to ask you not to talk to me about any UK shows until 24 hours from their airing or until I've made a review post (I don't make most of mine public any more because I'm so burnt out on wank, though). But, just so you know, I'm really antsy about hearing *anything* until I've seen the stuff myself...
