So I got this cheapo cat plushie for my nephew's birthday and I was just taking the price tags off it. I showed it to Noki and SHE THOUGHT IT WAS FUCKING REAL. She started hissing and spitting and screaming at it and tried to slap it!

Ha, so funny! Maybe she thought she had a rival for your affections. I've heard of cats lashing out at others for getting a human's attention.

Tessa used to meow plaintively if I picked up a plushie as if to say, "But I'm so much cuddlier!" And she was right. Jasmin actually snuggles up to the plushies around here, often pushing them onto the floor in her determination to get as close as possible.

She really, really, really doesn't get along with other cats at all, but I had no idea a plushie would read as a rival cat!

I remember Kitty becoming very distressed when she found a small toy woolly sheep. She carried it around the house, wailing, and we were afraid she was taking it for a dead kitten.
