Yet more on villains

...when people bitch about women fancying villains, why is it that the whiners always bring up the thing about women wanting to heal the villains because of a misguided mother instinct, or that the villain-fancying women are just like the ones who send love letters to murderers and the like...

That's a damn good point! One of the main reasons behind my taking a liking to Loki was that it came at a point in my life where I was being frequently reprimanded, shoved into a corner and had so much dumped on me I couldn't deal with it any more. So I took a different stance, in that if I was made out to be such a damn villain, I'd rock the look of one. Except.. I don't see Loki as entirely a villain as there is more to his character and his character is really interesting! But yes, identifying with a character like that has helped me get back on track and the side effect of rocking awesome Loki hair is something I *love*.... :)

I was just thinking of your awesome Loki hair and cosplaying the other day :D (I enjoyed having my eyeball ripped out greatly).

And yeah, I think the reason Loki has such a huge fanbase is because he is someone a lot of people, but particularily people with XX chromosomes can identify with. He's raging against people who think he is something less for being what he is (especially when that's not machismo and muscles and when he's all brainy and gender-nonconformist and whatnot), and a lot of brainy nerd women can identify with that, I think. Nerds get enough shit anyway but if you've got the biological makeup and jiggly bits that have been traditionally seen as weak and rubbish, it's even more difficult to get your voice heard. Fuck knows I could use some spells to smite all the idiots out there...

It's really great if a character like that can help you get back on your feet. *HUGS SO HARD* Don't let the bastards get you down. THIS MEWLING QUIM WILL BE PART OF YOUR ARMY ANY TIME.

Best. Response. Ever! :) Yes - it's brilliant a character like that can kick start me and I know, just know, I'm not alone in that. You being part of my army? *Sighs and falls over in a great big fluffy heap* Fricking awesome!

I am pleased to say the Loki hair is even darker now. And just the right length to make my cosplaying look very cool! :)
