I realized how it was going to end as soon as the Guv started stashing bicycles in Keats' office -- I realized "holy shit, this is Flann O'Brien's 'The Third Policeman,' and no one's getting out because they're already dead -- and that we would get our hearts broken and damn, yes, that was the only way it could have ended.
Eventually the Guv's going to move on too, though, don't you think? At some point he has to find peace. And when he does, he'll catch up with all his friends. <3
I was a bit sad that Gene didn't get to move on. I was pinning it that Gene, Chris, Ray and Shaz would move on because they'd been dead the longest, and Alex would stay to hold the fort down.
I guess that's just not in Gene, though. And how WONDERFUL was the WHOLE THING acted? Really, all of the main cast had moments that just fucking blew me away. And getting to see Glenister be a little soft, rather than always being a hardarse.
And OH GOD. I actually love Gene more now. Knowing who he is. He's basically awesome.
Also, I can't wait to get to purgatory. Apparently, they play David Bowie!
I was wondering if Bolly would stay there, too, either with the Guv or taking up the Guv's job or something.
Have you seen the BBC Vanity Fair from a few years back, with Glenister being all lovely in it? He did some wonderful angsty acting in that. I was really glad we could see more of that here. He can do vulnerable pretty damn well, and it really hits you hard because he plays tough guys most of the time.
AND I WAS RIGHT ABOUT THE PSYCHOPOMP THING. \o/ I am so glad Cop Heaven has Bowie and booze and somewhere in there, a wee Simmyboy.
I knew that Bolly could never stay with the Guv in the same place, though. It would make half the fandom ridiculously happy, and the other half ridiculously pissed off.
I do so hope that one day the Guv gets himself a pint. :/
And no, I've not seen Vanity Fair. He was being pretty nicely vulnerable last ep as well. He was HUGGING people and DANCING for fuck's sakes. It's cut. :3
I picked a lot of it. I'm a little bit pissed about Keats though. I was so sure he'd be neautral, but he was straight up a baddy...
You have to check that Vanity Fair thingy out. It's this one: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0159090/ It's quite entertaining and fun. And Phil is just *adorable* as Dobbin. <3
The Guv needs a very poofy pint with Sam, he does.
HERETIC. I can never get my head round that sort of thing and am a bit of a spoilerphobe. Even if the series/movie is ancient or something. But that's more to do with being so insanely picky that if I know to expect something, that's a guaranteed way for me to get disappointed. So I get more out of something the less I know about it:q.
BUT GUUUUUUUUV. A2A started out wobbly, but it really did become awesome by S3. It's worth watching.
I would have liked the idea of Keats being an aspect of Gene ("There is only one person in the universe that hates me as much as you do" - style) he would have needed to overcome to finally move on himself, but plain "evil" will do just as well. But I was sad to see Gene stay behind in his world while everybody he loved went on to the pub copper-heaven. But no rest for the wicked, obviously.
I was really impressed with series 3. It is very emotional, cleverly done, with some beautiful acting. For me, the last episode was a very fitting conclusion to the show, endig it on a high note. Now I'm sad and glad it's over at the same time. *sigh*

Honestly, I don't think I've ever been so satisfied with the ending of a TV series in my life. I WANT TO HUG THE ENTIRE CAST AND CREW.
