Scents and sounds

-Am currently taking a break from all sorts of medications to prepare for my new ones, and that's a good thing in that it allows me to fully indulge some sensual pleasures (and not just the naughty ones), since there's no blunting going on. I'm slowly getting back into the aromatherapy groove again, and boy, I've missed it. I managed to find some ( Read more... )

I like sandalwood a lot. I'm not much for incense (too powerful for me) but I have a folding sandalwood fan, which gives off the scent as you waft it. Sandalwood is rich without being cloying. Like good single malt whisky. ^^

Bill Nighy is the master of swagger. I wanted Bill as Eleven. I could have died happy had I been allowed to experience that.

Nonnomnomnom. Sandalwood for the win.

And I know half the world wanted Nighy!Eleven. He would've been of the win, especially for an old-fashioned sort of Doctor like the first four ones. It would've been so cool. *sigh* They could still cast him as an evil Time Lord, though, and that'd be superwin. I want him on the High Council!

Mm, if you like floral scents and/or you haven't tried it already, I suggest getting some rose absolute, which is the most amazing, heady, spicy-ish rose oil I've ever had the delight of smelling. Unfortunately, the pure stuff is obscenely expensive [$30+ US dollars for 5ml ;_____;], but personally? I think it is worth it to smell it at least once. You can get it mixed with Jojoba oil for $10 from Aura Cacia, but it isn't quite the same.

Also? I cried like a little bitch at He Knew He Was Right at least, oh, four times. ;o; ♥

Yeah, rose is quite wonderful but also super-expensive. That seller I got the jasmine from didn't have any, I don't think (and I couldn't afford it after the jasmine anyway)! But yeah, it's right up there with jasmine in loveliness.

That theme music was really good! I don't know much of anything about the show, but the music reminded me of a theme for a detective series, like Poirot or The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes. I suppose that makes sense. Mystery stories so often deal with the dark and hidden sides of human nature.

Yeah, I can see how it'd be similar to a mystery show's theme. It's wonderfully Romantic and dark and yet not over the top. NEED MORE OF THIS.
