IT WAS BRILL. And and and yeah, Shaz is like... Alex's homosexual urges trying to make her forget? The same way Sam's sekrit love of the cock made him prefer 1973? IDK.
So Ashes to Ashes and Life on Mars is really just about two people struggling with their homosexuality? The what the fuck does the Test Card Girl represent?
I THOUGHT EVERYONE KNEW THESE THINGS WERE ABOUT REPRESSED GHEY AND INCEST.
The TCG represents Sam's depression, I think. But shit, look at the clown--even he represents incestuous dodginess for Alex (as does the Guv). It's all in there. And Shaz is possibly her only way out, so Alex had better dive between her legs right now.
From the moment he first said "we're square men, right?" or something to that effect I was like noooo way! I nearly crapped my pants to see that initiation ceremony. I glad it was portrayed in that way, even though it bothers me that they got away with it so blatantly.
"After what I saw last night, I'm really pleased you're not one of them." "I'm not one of them, I've got a girlfriend." Ahahahahaha. Oh, good for you, Chris.
It really was such a good ep! Guv angst!!! And wow, super's getting creepier and creepier. Leave the towel on, man!
Forgetting stuff is one of my own nightmares, so yeah, this is going to get interesting....
Yes. Yes and yes. I'm not sure if they were all that fair on gypsies or Masons, but they probably could've done a *lot* worse. And I was really glad they chose the Hanged Man card and not the Death card to represent shit going down, because... yeah.
IT SO HAS A DEEPER MEANING. In my crazy fanbrain at least. That old woman saw into the Guv's head and those times he asked Sam to spank him. Or something.
There should be fic of the Guv having nightmares of Ghost!Sam in the abyss, guarding a door, yes?
Oh fuck yes. Now. Please.
How freaky was it at the end, when it seemed like she was still forgetting things? It was SO unexpected -- I figured the episode would be about her, you know, finding the strength or something to keep fighting, so she'd end up stronger and her memory problems would stop. But that's not what happened at all, judging from the end, and I was really not expecting that. That pretty seriously freaked me out at the end.
YES. And it's so scary and gaaaaaaaah. I REALLY LIKE THIS DIRECTION, as dark as it is. I bet there will be a couple of crappy eps in the middle, now, but holyfuckyes. I really really really like the LoM-level scary. That whole losing one's identity thing and forgetting the things that matter most? Fucking classic horror stuff.<3
I WANT GHOST!SAM EVERYWHERE. I am SO glad we are getting creepy mentions of him. It could be so fanwanky, but they've done it quite nicely so far, I think.
I'm trying hard not to go all capslock, but it's incredibly difficult when talking about all of the sheer awesomeness in this episode.
The bits with Alex forgetting things are truly horrifying, especially when that is one of my greatest fears (and already happens far too much for my liking), so I'm really interested to see how that pans out, as well as so many of the other things that could happen after occurences in this episode.
There should be fic of the Guv having nightmares of Ghost!Sam in the abyss, guarding a door, yes? Oh God, don't feed the bunnies. That could work so well as the sequel to a fic I wrote ages ago.
I was so happy when Chris wasn't one of the Masons, I don't think I could take it my adorable little div was corrupt.
THE GUV IS GOING TO HEAR FOUR KNOCKS AT HIS DOOR SOON, MARK MY WORDS.
And and and and yes, loss of identity=terrifying. Which is of the good. I've had terrible memory fuckuppances with various medications over the years, and it's scary enough when you forget something you were thinking of five minutes ago.
*feeds bunnies harder* it'd be terrifying if *Sam* became that psychopomp people insist the Guv is. AS LONG AS WE GET GHOSTLY SAM, DAMN IT.
Ghost!Sam won't stay at the bottom of the river, oh no. He is behind you right now, pale and smiling coldly. Can you feel the water dripping onto your shoulder as he leans over it and tells you to *write*?

John Simm: FUCKING PYSCHIC PEOPLE GONNA WARN YOU ABOU HIM AND HIS VOODOO.
And Supermac is basically sexually harassing the Guv. What. That's not even subtext, because he deliberately takes his towel down and... gah.
ALLOW ME TO EMASCULATE YOU WITH MY PENIS!
Way to make the Guv have pangs of conscience: have UST with him.His care-o-meter goes all the way up to 11 when he wants to shag someone ( ... )

Thank fuck I'm not the only one who does that.
