Finally managed to twist sam42's arm and got her to watch The Invasion with me. SHE DUG IT. SUCCESS. *oldskool pride* TWO>>>>>>EVERYTHING

I'd definitely put Invasion in my top 5 serials. It's one of the ones I'd use for people who think they're allergic to sci-fi cheese, to illustrate that some DW is not cheese at all.
I really love the morning scene where Isobel is looking out the window, waiting for the cybermen to emerge... So many human moments like that.
At that point, I weep because she's left Zoe for Captain Jimmy. *sob* and Zoe even changes back into her glittersuit to mark the end of their beautiful girl-on-girl relationship. *cri*
I also love how it's structured so well that you don't even notice Zoe is gone for one ep and Jamie is gone for one ep 'cos of the actors being on holiday. Often you can notice that immediately and go "WAAH, WHERE IS THE COMPANION?", but there's so much stuff going on with so many characters that you only notice towards the end of an ep or afterwards.
