It's okay, even though bloody Saward put extra violence into it for *no good reason*, just his desire to somehow appear cool with introducing secondary characters and then killing them at whim. But yeah, Robert Holmes wrote some good stuff for it, Two/Six bitching is awesome, JAMIE IS IN IT and it also has Jacqueline Pearce With Hair (ok, it's a wig, but anyway).
Yeah, there was a big kerfuffle. I don't mind violence if it's well-written (or outrageous and teh funneh, I'm a Tarantino fangirl ffs), but Saward's tends to be there just for the sake of it, to somehow appear edgy.

Jacqueline Pearce With Hair is amazing. I saw her play an 'Italian Countess' in some early-70s spy programme quite recently and she looked lurvly.
