2014 Harry Potter Fests: total counts

Inspired by capitu's recent Harry Potter Fests list, I thought I would go back to her 2014 post and do a quick wrap-up/retrospective on how many H/D fics were posted to fests this past year.

HD-focused fests: 410 HD fics totalhd-owlpost: 62 fics

It's easiest to count the HD-centric fests of course, not only because total fics = total HD fics, but because sometimes the mods are helpful and include a total count in their masterlist. The more difficult ones are the non-HD-centric fests, where I have to look through and count the HD's. But the most annoying are the HP fests where the masterlist just gives fic names and authors and no indication of the pairing! (I know the mods do a lot of work so I'm not trying to complain--it was my choice to count these anyway).

I'd like to have a count of other years as well in order to compare and to see just how stable the fandom has been over time, but yeah, kinda too tired to do that just now :)

Considering it's you, it's entirely possible :) I know for a fact that I have not! Like you, I keep lists of fics I've read, and also fics I intend to read. There are SO MANY fics! I don't think I'll ever get to the end of my lists.

That's so nice of you to say, but in reality I'm just a bit OCD. If I start counting something, I have to count ALL THE THINGS. So this way I can actually share the nutty stuff I've done and people can maybe get something from it, instead of me just counting to myself :)

I hadn't thought about doing art, honestly :) I've got lots of lists of fics, but I haven't done lists of art, so I'd have to start a whole new project, and I think I need to limit the amount of lists in my life!

It's a bit ironic, though, because I do like art too--in fact, I did better at guessing art in the hd-erised poll than I did at guessing fic. So much for all my listmaking!
