I believe in duality, and thus, if there is 'good' there must be 'evil'. Because it is impossible to define one without the other. How can you know something is 'wrong' unless there is something 'right' to oppose it?
Now, consider this... 'Satan' isn't the ancient nemesis, the first fallen angel. A 'satan' is a servitor of God in the original texts. The purpose of these spirits (pl: satans) was to test and tempt those who were faithful and 'good'. It was, in the end, the decision of the person whether or not to give in to temptation. These spirits weren't evil, they had a duty -- to ensure that we were truly worthy and pure.
So, consider this -- God isn't 'good', God is. He has his own rules, his own laws, that those who follow him are expected to follow. He is neither Good or Evil, he is a force of balance. (After all, He had the first-born-son of the Egyptians murdered in their beds, didn't he? These children didn't really do anything to deserve it, was that 'good'? One cannot exist without the other. If everyone was ugly, we would only see neutral. Not ugly or beauty.
