What in the world are these furry things everyone's talking about? KC left one in my shoe, but it isn't [brief pause as she considers what wording to use] intact enough to examine. I threw it off a branch.

It was a sweet gesture, though. He just wanting to bring dinner to his mommy. I gave him extra kibble as a reward.

What? All she did was get a cat gift! snowburned April 20 2010, 02:01:59 UTC
She raised the killer cat! idk man_genius April 20 2010, 02:16:35 UTC
It was furry, small, and wiggled. All cats would pounce. snowburned April 20 2010, 02:34:25 UTC

I think he was a little disappointed that I didn't eat it.

Well you're so skinny you need to eat more, clearly. He's just trying to look out for you.

I'm not skinny.

I keep having to roll them out of my house because of that. They trill and they're soft and fuzzy. It's like someone specifically designed the worst thing to be found by cats.

This is the only one I've seen so far. But if they're like mice, then seeing one means there are probably others, right?

Lots of others. We had some in the shop today--they breed like crazy!

Breed? That fast?

Sounds like you've got quite the little hunter on your hands.

Good thing, too. I can see him putting those skills to use, all things considered...

Oh, yes, the mighty hunter. I'll be setting him on frog monsters next.

All the better. Those things are vicious, and we need all the help we can get against such a threat.

It might not be very efficient, though. Fierce as KC can be, it could take him a long time to finish off one of those creatures.

I'm glad that KC was able to deal with it. This morning I found Veda choking on one of the creatures.

snowburned April 20 2010, 02:50:26 UTC
But those things are far too big for him to--never mind, it's Veda.

...That was similar to my own reaction, yes. I'm still not sure why he didn't just let go.

Probably because it hadn't occurred to him. He's a sweet animal, but not very bright.
