Why would you be undergoing fertility treatments to have more children if you already have 6 children under the age of 7?  Isn't 6 enough?

I'm wondering this too. Talk about crazy and irresponsible, sheesh.

I thought you had tweeted this, went looking for it there and then only now realized it was on LJ. Ha.

Anyway, I have no answer to that. I actually don't understand the whole going to such extremes to have children at all. I think people who try for years and years and years and spend lots of money on fertility treatments are bigots. What, adoption isn't good enough for you?

Excuse me?

Do you know how expensive -- in money, in planning, in potential heartache -- adoption can be?

Take it from someone who explored both options. Pregnancy is easier in so many ways. "Bigotry" has nothing to do with it. The use of that word really puts my hackles up.

(The octuplets thing is totally insane, though. The doctor who oversaw the procedure should have his license revoked, and the family/taxpayers should sue the hell out of him for the support of those kids. Regulations say no more than two or three IVF embryos at her age, and no more than four EVER. Doesn't matter if the mother wants more. It's unethical under any circumstances.)
