ive been in a real rut lately. i keep sitting down at the keyboard (the musical kind) and nothing comes out. try to draw and the pencil just taps the paper. im feeding my brain with inspirational materials all the time but for some reason i seem to have lost all inspiration for anything. im back to square one where im sitting in my hot house all ( Read more... )

i totally go through these periods too, so don't feel bad.

it's just like being single- if you look for a lady friend you have no luck! stop looking and she'll fall right into your lap. so stop being hard on yourself, go with the flow, suck up that inspiration and the creativity will come back when it's good and ready. you know?

yeah ive been definitely seeing parallels between how i feel about my creativity/career and how i used to feel about the dating world. like if i dont hear back from a potential employer right away its like i got stood up! its just been a long time since i really felt creative, this has to be one of the longest dry spells (almost a year) so its hard to just stand back and let the time waste away... but youre right, i need to stop obsessing about it.

i am going to try to talk jamie into starting up craft night again. if he does you should totally start doing it with us. just being around other people gets things flowing like you wouldn't believe.

faux things are fun! faux fur, faux wood, faux pleather (which would just go in a circle, and be leather! haha).

anyhoo, d'ohhh to creative ruts! :/ maybe hopefully creating TV theme song covers will help you! haha
