I think you're doing very well for a beginner! I'm pretty new to photoshop myself. I'd reccommend learning about layers and how to make your pictures have lots of depth of colour and shade by layering. It took me forever to figure out how people got their icons like that!
I think your cropping in the Gillian/Scully section is way better than the XF section-more interesting and different. I swear, 90% of good icons is a nice cap to start with. Playing with the contrast/lightness/colour of your caps will make a huge difference!
I think you're doing wonderfully! Good luck with your icons-though I warn you-it's very very addictive :)
These are really good! You should definitely keep making icons :D Im still pretty much a beginner too, and i've found that practicing lots really helps (and is a lot of fun!) :P
I love heaps of the Gillian ones you posted and snagged a few from both sections. I'll definitely credit if I use any :) Thanks heaps! :) And I cant wait to see more of your stuff!
aww they are great I love #7 and #16. I recoment going to icon_tutorial or my community xfile_tutorials you can find tutorial realtating to XFILES Icons. and the other one has tutorials of all kinds. You have done a great job for a first try better then I ever did starting out.
