Ah~! Dragon quest is quite an addicting series. I don’t know why. But whenever I pick one up I go into this frenzy and have to be playing it all the time. Which is hard to do when I’m in classes or when I need to read mom’s papers. But I somehow managed both. Somehow. So I like the art, Akira Toriyama for the win! It’s a familiar and nostalgic style. The battle system was easy to use and figure out, pretty standard for RPGs. Monsters had icons on the screen and you could avoid them if you didn’t want to battle. The metal slimes that I did want to battle are a pain to fight. STOP RUNNING AWAY! D:
I loved being a guardian angel! It was a nice time. Loved working for the Almighty even if plot development later in the game were things I didn’t personally agree with. Saving the world wasn’t a mission because I was some silly human. It was because it was my job to protect the Amighty’s children. And I really liked that. I also really liked playing as a Paladin. The quests for that vocation were a pain in the butt, but, well worth it. And finding the fyggs wasn’t too difficult. The story was also fairly easy to follow along with. I only got lost once while collecting fyggs but you don’t have to collect them in any real order. It just helps to do it in a certain way because of monster levels. But, I didn’t notice anything too terrible in way of random mobs killing me.
I only had trouble with one boss, he beat me like four times. But it wasn’t even the last boss. Everyone after him was easy as pie. And I’m not bragging or anything. They were so much easier to beat. Love, friendship, and forgiveness for the win!
I have yet to try the wireless party play, but I bet it’s going to be hilarious. I can’t wait to get Tako over here to try it out. We’re going to die so many times! Well, maybe not, since I’m an epic Paladin.
[spoiler]Downside, now I’m mortal. Couldn’t fight Corvus as a Celestrian because we can’t disobey our superiors. So I had to eat a fygg to become mortal so that I could save the world. But it was still the choice to protect the Almighty’s children and so it was a simple one. So now, I’m mortal and running around post game. I do like that Serena was able to find and stop Corvus even though the Angel human relationship could have been taken romantically in this case. Anyways! AQUILA~ WHY? My master is apparently dead. ;____;[/spoilers]
