Thank you -- I think with Draco it was not so much that Lucius brainwashed him, as that he grew up in a privileged household where just absorbing the general mindset of his parents came naturally.
(With "a few years ago" I was trying to imply that Draco was harking back to the time before it all started to go horribly wrong for him, the period covered by GoF and most of OotP where his family were looked up to, he didn't yet have to worry about what Voldemort wanted him to do, and he could strut about the place like a lord.)
Loved this. I think this is exactly where Draco would find himself right after the war is over- in the no man's land between both sides, hated by sympathizers and victims at the same time. It's quite a sad place for a eighteen year old to be in, I'm glad he might have found someone to talk to. And Zabini didn't seem exactly impressed during sixth year, so I think you were spot-on.
