It's quite interesting because it can show in babies and in adults. Generally not in between, there are other mechanisms for that.

WILL TOTES DO X-MEN once I finish my internal debate about signing up for things. I've already written a Jrock/JE mutant/X-men crossover (with KAT-TUN as the Canadian superhero team!) but that didn't really have a plot. XD

That is interesting! Does this mean there are potential ways to limit the post-impact damage of spinal chord injuries by repressing the expression of that protein? Possibly?

Oh man, I also really would love to see Sky Captain done!

The paper I was reading, they inflicted spinal damage on rats and then used anti-sense RNA to suppress the expression of SUR1 and it did show a marked improvement, the spread of lesions and hemmorage were decreased.

Another thing they are thinking of using, is glibenclamide it's a blocker for the channel, but it blocks other things too, so I'd personally be more hesitant to use it.

It's kind of really cool XD
