Hun, you were pretty young when you guys started dating. After so long, its not wierd that you are trying to 'catch up'. I dont mean that in a bad way. There is nothing wrong with meeting people, of either sex, and not planning on having a long interaction with them. Be safe, but go out and fill your life up with friends and men.
