Yeah, I'm on Facebook, but my fandomy ways are kept as separated from that as I can get them, so I'm still here!
Have fun up here when you fly in for the fam. Glad to hear things are going pretty much well over all for you even with the work caused separation. Bring layers.
I won't pay for my user pics, but I will pay not to see ad's. That's the important part for me. :)
I agree that here is where I can be myself. I can write what I like and not worry that someone will take offense. Y'all know me, and I feel safe here :o)
Although I'm on facebook I don't usually post/say/do much there because my family is watching, and they take even the smallest opportunity to pounce and say something stupid that will eventually make me rage.
I have to be careful, as well, since there are work and family people there. Here is free!!
Work is full of often-whiny bitches who make me want to go postal sometimes. Most of the time I can deal with their passive-aggressive crap, but this week not so much. Jerks. Sometimes I just want to go fold shirts at Macy's and not worry about much.
Hi there! It must be weird being apart from your husband and daughter so much. Glad you'll be taking a break and seeing them soon. Being a manager is tough, but I'm sure that you are very capable. You won't ever see me at FB, so I'll just wave at you from my basic account here from time to time. :-))
I was wondering what happened to you! I'm on fb but I'm very guarded about what I say there because there are a lot of family members as "friends". Here, I feel free to be the true idiot that I really am. I can squee to my heart's content and even get a slight bit naughty....heh-heh. I suppose it's the anonymity that allows us all to feel more comfortable...at least for me anyway.
Sorry you're not feeling well. Hope you feel better in time for Thanksgiving. Pop back in more often, we missed ya!
Having done NaBloPoMo two years in a row, I know how challenging it can be. You are doing nicely.
FB is a time suck, but I like connecting with my HS chums.
I work at a private not-for-profit social service agency, overseeing seven direct reports (though our program has a total of fifteen--my cohort herds the other eight). As you can see in my reply to desds, they often drive me crazy because they can't see past their whining. Funds are an issue and they seem to have trouble making the connection between being employed and bringing in the Medicaid dollars *sigh* Any general advice would be most appreciated, V.

I may change my mind about the paid account...

I wish I knew how to be a good manager. I do not have much guidance, which is often frustrating.
I have seen your tv posts--they're fun!

How many people are you managing, and what kind of company is it? I'd love to discuss that--as an HR type, that kind of conversation is a buzz for me.
Glad to see you here! :)
