I'm trembling as I type -- this was so intense, it left me with no coordination. And probably no coherent feedback.
This was amazing.
There are many pieces that make cancer seem almost pretty and romantic. And there are other pieces that give cancer a more realistic, painful edge. I think you managed to be real and bitter, yet still preserve what is lovely.

I agree. And cancer is anything but. Cancer is difficult and terrifying and confusing and saps you without warning and without your mind really being able to process what your body is going through. I wanted to try to convey the uglier, realistic sides of the disease as well as the emotions the characters are feeling. I'm so glad I managed to find a happy medium that worked for you.
What really shone in this chapter is the Bill characterization. I love the way that you captured that many of his most admirable qualities can also be serious problems.
(And... this is my only Bill icon. I really ought to do something about that. :p)
I really adore Bill. He is so strong and loyal and determined...and yet flawed at the same time. He's a wonderfully complex character and wonderfully human as well. I'm so glad that you like my interpretation of him. I hope everyone can love him as much as I do. :)
The sad thing is... I have a bunch. They're just on my RP journal and not my personal one. Only the duck icon made it over to the personal journal. :p
I really love the way that the flaws grow so naturally out of the strengths. It's so, well, human. Sometimes when I hear non-fandom people describe him I wonder if they were really watching the show, because he initially seems so straightforward, but he's really not.
