You know, stuff like that happens to me often, as well.
I was feeding my pet boa constrictor (Lilith), and one of the stupid cats (Freak) had to go and sniff at Lilith as she was about to lunge at the rat (lyncollege and I only feed the snakes dead rodents). Instead of lunging at her food, Lilith lunged at Freak and got his paw. Luckily, she only ripped off a nail, and it grew right back.
Another incident involves Freak and Lilith...
He jumped up on her tank and broke the screening on the top while we were sleeping. We woke up to a broken snake tank top and no snake. We searched everywhere, and I finally said, "Hmm, if I were a snake, where would I go?" I narrowed it down to one corner of the room, and the snake was two feet from where I initially pointed. She wedged herself underneath a heating vent. It took a while to get her to calm down (she was hissing at us) and back into her tank.
In the end, both Freak and Lilith are healthy without any permanent scars. I'm amazed.
