This weekend has been perfect weather--cold & rainy! I didn't work with my mom yesterday for a couple reasons. First, for the last however many weekends, it almost seems like I don't have a weekend at all. I spend Saturdays at the shop only to come home and do house chores then Sunday I go to church and breakfast with the family--which seems to ( Read more... )

You guys should go to IKEA for your entertainment center. They've got some really cool - and inexpensive ones there. Well, according to their catalog they do.

I feel you on the weekend thing. Yesterday was my last free Saturday until our trip and then again until March because my Proseminar class starts next week.

At first I read the part about you getting your haircut as 11 inches! I was like WHOA! Bangs are good! I'm sure it looks cute. You're probably just so used to your previous style that it's difficult to adjust. Anywho, see ya in an hour.

I think she left my bangs a little too long. I said I wanted long bangs but maybe I should've had her cut them a little shorter. Plus I don't know what to do with them when my hair is curly--it looks funny to have straight bangs and the rest of my hair is curly.

I forgot about IKEA--I'll have to drag Steve down there so we can look around.

WOW! a $1,000 difference?!?? Awesome!!! =oD

My accountant does my taxes, because I KNOW I'd mess them up with all the deductions, claims, business, and all the other things that need to be factored in.

However, since I always have to PAY IN several thousand dollars, tax time is NO FUN. I miss the days of getting a big refund!!

So what are the chances of you getting some sort of full-time teaching position this fall..??

I'd definitely use an accountant if I had a lot of things to factor in when it came to taxes. Right now it's not a big deal so I can do it myself but it's just so much faster doing it online. Good God--I couldn't imagine having to pay that much back in taxes. Steve's 2 half brothers inherited A LOT of $$ a few years ago when their mom died, 1 has been pretty responsible and the other just went crazy with it and last year he had to pay almost $50,000!!!!! I seriously would've had a heart attack!!

It's hard to say what my chances of getting a position in the fall will be. I know the district I want to teach in will have quite a few openings in the Social Studies department and because I was a student in the district from 2nd-12th grade and I did my student teaching in the district I have a better chance of getting in, but unfortunately for me, there are tons and tons of teachers for Social Studies so I don't know how many candidates I'll be up against. But hopefully my history with the district will help me out.

YIKES!! $50g?! And I felt bad about $35g.....=o/ I'm hoping to cut it in half this year though, with the move, and the expansion of the company, etc.

(I'm thinking of making a filter on my friends list where I can feel more comfortable talking about my business stuff, but I'm still so paranoid and leery about giving out *too* much info to the general public. =o/ I guess I haven't done it yet, because there'd only be about 5 people on the filter...heh. )

As far as teaching goes, I think it will be so good for you to be doing all this subbing, because it will surely get you the "connections" to have a little bit of an edge on the other applicants for the position.

We NEED teachers so badly everywhere right now. And since I haven't told you in a while, I really admire you so much for going into the teaching profession. There is NO job more important than being a teacher. ♥

$35G!!!OMG! I'm ticked that I owe the state of Arizona $58! But yeah, Steve's brother was so incredibly stupid with his money. I guess I can see how someone who isn't use to having $$ can make crazy decisions, but he inherited the $$ a few years ago and apparently he hasn't learned--and he has a financial advisor but apparently he isn't taking any advice like his other brother is ( ... )
