Action | All over town | Locked to castmates
[Riza wasn't unused to the strange envelopes or packages containing items from home, not after she'd been through two such events. That morning, when she'd gathered the mail, she'd gotten a small envelope with a photograph. It was a photo she'd kept carefully hidden away at home, of her and her father.

Is this line secure enough? Or would you prefer face to face?

I don't trust these phone lines. Is your lunch break long enough to come to the house?

I'll get Fullmetal to teach the class. See you soon, Lieutenant.

Hello, sir.
[Awkward greeting is awkward, but one doesn't typically start a conversation by saying that 'oh, that big tattoo with all the information about flame alchemy is back!' That would be even worse.]

He jogs a little to catch up and as he's about to call out to her he sees something... strange. What was on her back?]
Lieutenant Hawkeye! Hey!

[She can carry on a nice conversation with Edward, and he's a good kid. Besides, her walk to work is usually alone, so company would be nice.]

I think you have something on your neck.

Colonel Mustang must've fallen asleep grading papers again.

Still, she can't pet it if the owner doesn't draw closer. Sigh.]

Black Hayate, no. You can't just walk up to strangers and expect them to pet you.

I'm more a cat person, admittedly, but I can stand small cute canines now and then. This is a particularly good example of what cute should be defined as.

I apologize.
But he is cute, isn't he?
[Come on, she's going to call her own puppy cute.]

You've got something on your neck, Hawkeye.
[And oddly enough, it doesn't look like marker or pen marks, it looks much more a part of her than simple scribbling could.]

[Nothing does. It's a good thing Olivier is more behind her than in front of her, or she would've seen the look of downright horror that was granted a sum total of two seconds on her face. She turns quickly.]
Ah? It's probably nothing. The boy in our house likes to play pranks.
[Lies. But Riza is a pretty good liar. And when push comes to shove, if there's one thing she's good at lying about, it's this tattoo.]

[The close she gets, the more or the intricate lines she can see.]

I wouldn't put it past him. He seems to enjoy silly pranks like this, and it makes him happy. We are stuck in an alternate reality. I may not like finding dye in my shoes in the morning, but it's harmless and it makes him smile.
[Come on. That's pretty good for coming up with it on the spot.]

So when an adorable black and white dog bounds up to her, tail wagging and all friendly, she can't help but smile. Animals always made her feel better, especially the loving and friendly ones. Bending down, she reaches out to pet the dog.)
Hey there buddy. At least one of us is having a good day, huh?
Reply
He always seems to be having a good day.
[Riza smiles, though it's more tense and hesitant than warm. Sorry Miss Pauling, she's had a crappy day too.]
And he likes to try and cheer others up when they've had a bad day themselves.

(She's going to start petting him gently. She really should look into getting a pet for herself, they always seemed to make her feel better.)

[Hayate wags his tail, but yips quietly in response to Riza's comment. He is a smart puppy!]
