If you figure out what to do with your queen boxspring, let me know. I've got one of my own, sitting uselessly in a closet. Sometimes I fear that it may feel neglected.

Good luck with the internet withdrawal! At least it'll be over soon.

I think the answer may be to find a friend with a truck and get them to haul it to the goodwill.

Hey--I was just wondering yesterday when you'd be back! I miss yoooooooooou! *sniff*

Your bed wouldn't fit upstairs? Yikes! Hopefully that was the only major glitch you guys encountered! Here's to your new place, and the new job too. Adjusting to a new workplace is hard, but with any luck at all you'll start feeling more comfortable soon. :)

Newp, because francophones usually have french keyboards [although, I use the code, which I know off by heart].

You can buy a split box spring, in two pieces - that's what I had to do when I lived in the city, with all the narrow stairwells. But it's a couple hundred, which sucked.

Walking distance to Annapolis Mall is a pretty nice area! Congratulations!

ouch. we may have to do that, unless we can stand sleeping on just the mattress. i'm not sure how good that is for one's back but we could do worse.

thanks :D

I dealt with this when I moved to DC several years ago. I know king size boxsprings are available in two pieces, not so sure about queen size. I think a better solution is to look into a nice-looking platform bed.

Boxsprings are silly and more or less functionless -- their job is to raise the mattress higher from the frame and to provide support under the mattress. You can get the same effect supportwise from a mattress directly on the floor, stiff boards placed under the mattress on the frame, or an actual platform bed.

Have you seen our bed? It's a queen size platform bed, and it cost us about three or four hundred. We got it from Z Furniture, who have a pretty decent selection of platform beds. Ikea also has some platform beds and other beds that can be put together as either standard or platform.

Actually we ended up with a aolution not unlike the one that you have described, in the sense that the bedframe we bought from Ikea comes with these slats that fully support the mattress so we're just ditching the box spring. :)

Hello! Oh man. When YOU leave livejournal, it's like...it's like...
I dunno exactly what it's like. Like when the leader of a country goes abroad?
