Our internet is down. I know nothing about the mysterious workings of wireless connections, but my computer tells me that it can't access the router. I don't suppose anyone out there would know how to fix this? We've unplugged and reset the thing, to no avail. Your landlord is officially a dick. I'd move the fuck out of there, but I don't know what your lease agreement is or anything.

*hmm* You might have an DNS or IP issue with your router (Not that I know exactly how to FIX this, it just seems to be a common problem). Do you have troubleshooting instructions or an FAQ or something?

Okay. Try this. If you've reset both your router and your cable box, then it might be a simple task of renewing your IP adress. Go to start, and then "run"

Type "cmd" (without the quotes) in the line, and click "ok".

This opens your c:// prompt, or your DOS prompt. It will give you a pathfile, such as C:\Documents and Settings\whatever. After the last backslash, type in "ipconfig/release"

The comp will work, and reset your IP address to 0. It will also give you the same prompt as before. THIS time type "ipconfig/renew" Your comp will work for a minute, and then it will pop up with a new IP address if everything is where it should be. If you get an error message, or it times out, then it's your network. If not, and everything sets up fine, and you STILL don't get internet, call the cable company.

After you reset your ip address, wait about an hour or so. Give it time to reset in the system and cycle through to your connection.

This SHOULD fix your problem.
