I do not understand the appeal of Webkinz. It's like...Neopets? But with a crappy stuffed animal?

I think one or two are cute, but the appeal is the logging in online and entering codes to get Cool Things(tm) (I think how it works is that you enter the code on the toy's tag, and then you get an online version of the animal, and you can get stuff for them from points; I'm not sure). It's kind of scary how many adults come to buy Webkinz for themselves, though; not in a "Oh, this hippo is cute!" way, but "OMGIMUSTHAVETHEHIPPO!!!! GIVEMEALLYOUHAVE!!!"
