When I find myself reflecting on my numerous faults, I always come around to thinking: "Yes, but look at my friends! I can't suck THAT badly, or they wouldn't want to hang out with me!" Not that this is an excuse to avoid self-improvement, but it does salve the wound.

It is! And I don't plan to be dot...ty? Hmm. I plan to live in Hawaii where people are more laid back and not as stressed out and thus live longer and healthier lives. Ah HA! I win.
