Someone explain to me why we should withhold judgment on Michael Vick, but no one urged that for the Duke lacrosse team?

Because the latter fit a political stereotype that a portion of society already believes is true...they just need the facts to back it up. So as soon as an allegation comes out about rich white kids hurting a poor, black girl, they just know it really happened.

Well one, he's a *professional* athlete, and that makes a big difference.

Two, Vick's crime didn't involve a woman, so Nancy Grace has been kept relatively quiet in her corner.
