1. Is there a bandom rec site in the vein of crack_impala? If not, there should be one. No, I'm not volunteering.

2. Apparently there is Supernatural wank going on like a motherfucker today. Just in case you wondered what my opinion was, it's the same as always: I don't care.

3. Problems with the Kinsey Scale aside, I'd put myself at a solid five (maybe Read more... )

Re #1. Oh, I hope there is!

Unrelatedly, I have no idea what kind of comment notifications you have set, so I'm going to ask this again, and you will have to forgive me if it appears in your inbox or whatever twice--I'm going to do my damnedest to make it to the Vegas show, with my enabler and the girl I dragged into bandom the same time I helped drag you two--want to meet up?

Yes yes yes! And PBH and tanisafan will be there, too! And you can stay in our hotel if you need to as long as you promise not to date rape us! Yay!

Wait! Re: #3, I fall similarly on the scale myself, but Spencer Smith defies all such labelling.

As a total random tangent to your post, when I first learned about the Kinsey scale my mom and I were having a discussion about it and my MOM told me, "Well I always kind of thought of myself as a 2.5."

My mom is a half a point less than me on the Kinsey scale. So now I get the heebeejeebees when I see it referenced anywhere.

Also, you have become partially why I am adventurous at Starbucks. (You and T who had to do a STarbucks rotation at B and N) Today I ordered a 1/2 green tea 1/2 apple juice with 2 pumps vanilla. It sounds horrible but it was freaking AMAZING. At least to me. :)

No, the tea and apple juice is awesome. I drink passion with a little splash of apple juice at night when I don't want caffeine, but the green is also delish with it, as is the black.

In the winter, bags of green tea steeped in steamed apple juice rules the world.

I've missed your entries. *hug*

Ze Question: What are the requirements to work at Starbucks? I need a job, and I love making coffee, but I'm still working towards getting my GED and don't know if that rules out being a barista.

And I've been meaning to make a post about my smoking, but as it's on a special small filter I keep forgetting. Long story short, I made it through this whole homelessness thing without my smoking increasing any (I have never gone over a half-pack in one day, and actually smoked more when I was with my mother). Between that and not self-injuring, I feel amazingly in control of myself.

I've been tempted to make a post saying "Hey! I didn't just make it through, I made it through without over-smoking or cutting myself! Go me!", but I don't think it would go over well.

Wherever you are in school doesn't matter when it comes to being a barista. However, official dress code is that you can't have any visible tattoos or facial piercings and also that your hair can't be unnatural colors. Now. In Tucson, this rule is strictly enforced. In other places? Not so much. So go look at your local baristas and see if it might be an issue. If not, let me know if you decide to apply and I'll give you a reference.

Since this is Portland I might be able to get away with it (I wear the mohawk in a ponytail). If not, I can either shave my head (no, really, and not even out of protest) or apply at Local Indie Coffee Shop Numbers 1 Through 1,000. As for the piercings, that's what spacers are for (on the one-in-a-thousand chance you don't know, spacers are little clear pieces of plastic that keep your piercings from closing up when you have to do Serious Business).

And also? You rock! Thank you so much!
