Hey again!! I`d like some recommendation of fics with Severus as an insecure person, who does not think he is worth of a normal relationship or of affection. I love bottom!Severus, but also like him as a top almost as much. I like when he shows submissive traits, but also when he is driven by jealousy to act all dominant. pekeleke writes mostly insecure/vulnerable Severus and her works are beautifully written and very romantic. All her works are on AO3 I think.

Tira Nog's fics are pretty much exactly what you're after. Especially A Nick in Time, its sequel Growing Pains, and the unrelated one Until Proven (this is one of the heaviest fics I have ever read. Tread lightly. The angst is so so heavy).

Tira Nog is one of my favorite fic writers. She actually was the one who sparked my interest in vulnerable!severus and bottom!severus, as I preferred sub!Harry fics. Growing Pains is a classic realy. I think I`ll read it again, Just to be happy!

I also love "In Pepeutity", by Starcrossedgirl, and it has a very insecure, very subdued Snape. =)

After answering you I reread "Chrysalis" again. I don't ever get tired of her stories because of what you said: even insecure, Severus is still very in character and I love how she plays with that. ^^
