I was wondering if you know of snarry fics that are a romance genre and where the two don't fall into bed after the first kiss...I'm looking for stories where they are taking it slow, like have many dates with progressing physical closeness, like first just kiss for a while, then get more intimate but still no full sex, and eventually, they do have ( Read more... )

I'm not sure I can rec anything you haven't already heard of. And most of the fics that come to my mind generally involve some sort of 'forced/extended courtship' aspect to them. (Probably because if it takes too long for the boys to get together in a story for me, I usually bail long before the half way point. :D )

There's Isolde's "Minor Arcana" series, it takes a long time for Sev and Harry to get together in that one, I think. "Peripheral Vision" by Alexandra Dane is a nice one, too. Amorette's fics are generally nothing but semi-courting (but gorgeous for all that). And there's old-school fave "Sanguis-Victulum" Meri, but again that's more forced courtship/bonding. wish I knew more up-to-date, well-written stuff. (sigh)

Another old-schooler who likes to prolong things for the boys is LinW (Nesting Hedwig). If I remember correctly it takes them a while to actually become a couple in "Blackbird", with much weirdness happening before then.

Okay, I'll look at them. Maybe I should check out some of the forced bonding fics too...now that I think of it, it's been a really long time since I read any. I think maybe the "slow physical progress" would be most likely in rape recovery fics....but it's about overcoming trauma, and I'd like the slowness to be about romance :-)

I think Revealed, Gently by sarkysue matches this request and is a terrific read besides.

Summary: EWE, Romance/Humour/Eventual Porn. Clichéd yet enjoyable: Snape isn’t dead, he’s back at Hogwarts and in need of an assistant. Coincidently, Harry is hanging around Hogwarts, reluctant to move on with his life. Cue sniping and snarking, tears and laughter and, possibly, love.

Completed. 22,000 words.
