Two Tu-160 Russian strategic bombers landed Wednesday at an airbase in Venezuela to take part in military exercises, Russian news agencies reported, citing the Russian defence ministry.

Thats a fast bomber. It would seem to be a suicide mission if it were used to bomb the US.

On its own, I agree that this bomber would never make it...... This is just a show of force, to intimidate us.

That would seem logical after Russia nixed the Caspian Pipeline through Georgia. Curious to see what Plan Columbia shift into in 2009.
