Most patriot groups get infiltrated when there isn't much criteria to be among or join them. Personal information or required attendance inhibits infiltration.

In the interest of networking sometimes when I'm at a gun show or hamfest I'll look for 4WD vehicles, especially lifted suspension ones, multiple non-broadcast band antenna, check bumper stickers. If I see someone I'll ask if they're from Maryland, if they're part of a shooting club, where the nearest range is. Small talk that if they seem friendly I'll say more about my interests and see what develops.

I have become very shy when it comes to any organized groups these days. It is just too easy to get “set-up” if they really want to shut you down for any reason. The day will come when this will have to change but for now I trust only my closest friends when it come to preparedness.

Recruiting is something that I still enjoy doing very much. I have become a lot more selective over the years and have been able to refine my process it quite well. There is nothing like allowing someone to discover “truths” all on their own……
